A few members of our committee and members had the honour to attend a private viewing of the V&A Exhibition - Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams last week. CUFLBS would like to extend our utmost gratitude to Dior for this precious opportunity.
The exhibitions is the museum’s biggest fashion exhibition since Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty in 2015 and the largest Dior exhibition that has ever been displayed in the UK.
Fashion and textiles curator Oriole Cullen and set designer Nathalie Crinière led the V&A team to reimagine and recreate the exhibition Christian Dior: Couturier du Rêve, which was displayed at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, for the Sainsbury wing of the Gallery in London - with the addition of a section documenting the designer’s fascination with British royalty and cultural figures.
This has been an truly exciting and unique experience for our committee members and we hope all of you get the chance to visit this exhibition to experience Christian Dior's dreams and renowned work!
